About MeDr. Zawacki is originally from the Boston area. He attended college at Holy Cross and Medical school at the University of Massachusetts. Surgical training brought him to Chicago where he completed his residency at Loyola University in Maywood. Following residency he further specialized in colon and rectal surgery by completing a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Zawacki is one of the few board certified colorectal surgeons in the Western suburbs and has been recognized throughout his career as an outstanding teacher by medical students, surgical residents and colleagues alike. His area of specialty includes benign and malignant disorders of the colon, rectum and anus and minimally invasive surgery.
