James Wiedower Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

Dr. Wiedower earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. He traveled east to his general surgery residency at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He fell in love with Virginia and moved to Winchester in 1983. Dr. Wiedower received gastric bypass surgery training during his residency and has completed specialized training in advanced laparoscopic procedures including the placement of the Adjustable Gastric Banding Systems and the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. He is the Medical Director of Information Systems for Valley Health. He is passionate about this program because it gives him the ability to assist patients in getting their lives back.
