Daniel Cronk Bariatric Surgeon MD

Dr. Cronk has performed hundreds of bariatric operations since first gaining experience with bariatric surgery in 2002. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic bariatric surgery, including adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revision surgery. He is also the only surgeon in the region to perform laparoscopic duodenal switch surgery. Dr. Cronk has dedicated his career to bariatric surgery, and truly cares to help each of his patients achieve the best health possible. Dr. Cronk is a native of Grand Island. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Christian University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with High Distinction in 2001. He then spent 11 years on active duty in the US Army fulfilling the obligation from the scholarship he was awarded during medical school. It was during his surgical residency at the military's busiest bariatric center located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, that Dr. Cronk developed his passion for bariatric surgery. After completing his surgical training, Dr. Cronk spent a 5-year utilization tour at Ft. Campbell, KY., helping to run a thriving bariatric program at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Dr. Cronk's time at Ft. Campbell was also marked by 3 tours to Afghanistan during which he had the opportunity to practice far-forward battlefield surgery and to co-author several papers on the surgical care of combat casualties in austere environments. Upon discharge from the Army in 2012, Dr. Cronk then returned to Nebraska and joined Methodist Physicians Clinic in Omaha to practice bariatric surgery exclusively.
