Catherine Beck, MD, FASMBS is a board-certified general surgeon that specializes in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery. She serves as the Director of Bariatric Surgery for The Utah Center for Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery (CMIBS) at Jordan Valley Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital.

She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and her medical degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She went on to complete her surgical residency in general and trauma surgery at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. She then completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of California - San Diego, where she studied advanced techniques in laparoscopic and robotic esophageal, anti-reflux, hernia, and bariatric surgery.

Dr. Beck is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). As a leading expert in her field, she has presented multiple times at SAGES and ASMBS and has contributed to many research studies that appear in top medical research journals.

Dr. Catherine Beck is known for her excellence in patient care and as a surgeon who always listens to her patients with an open heart and warm smile. Specializing in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, she offers minimally invasive bariatric surgery solutions including the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNY), and weight loss surgery revisions.

With skill and expertise, Dr. Beck also specializes in the surgical treatment of reflex, hiatal hernias, and esophageal dysmotility. She also performs gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, endoscopies, and trauma and acute care surgery.
