Dr. Benedict Hui, MD, Bariatric Surgeon

Benedict Hui, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery and minimally invasive surgery at the MultiCare Center for Weight Loss & Wellness in Covington, Washington. He received a BS in Bioengineering with research honors at the University of Washington and earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine. Dr. Hui completed a fellowship in bariatric surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He has received advanced robotic assisted surgery training using the da Vinci Surgical System.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS), Dr. Hui is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).

Dr. Hui has published his research on topics ranging from bariatric surgery to hernias. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented his expertise orally at nationally recognized conferences.

He specializes in advanced robotic assisted surgery and skillfully performs minimally invasive surgeries, including the Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), Laparoscopic Roux-en-y (RNY) Gastric Bypass, and revisional bariatric surgery. His expertise also includes reflux procedures.
