I was a wreck...up and down... more up then down. I hate myself, I hated my family, I blamed TV, genes, everyone and everything but myself. But basically I had completely given up.

I have been overweight since the age of six years old. I never got to wear the clothing that was "age appropriate." I have been on every diet there has ever been, and have had success that always ends in failure. I knew that I could loose the weight on my own, but somehow the motivation to do so never did outweigh my love for food.

I had virtually given up and was trying to accept the fact that I was going to be fat the rest of my life which would end much faster. I actually felt it was my way of committing a slow suicide. My problem wasn't how much or what I ate. It was because I haven't been able to get the exercise I need. I was very athletic through my late 20's and early 30's. The combination of gaining 98lbs with m...

My Emotional and Behavioral battle with weight control. Hmmm I think the key word is CONTROL I had none. I was not self disaplined in anyway. I couldnt even stay on a diet for more than a day or two. I had an attitude that I didnt think it was fair that I had to struggle to be thin when Others in this world could eat whatever they wanted and still look great. I had a big hang up with that alone, T...

I had tried numerous diets and weight loss programs. I lost weight on them all - for a while, then I would put it all back on...and probably more! I was depressed all the time and hated to go shopping or even go out! I was constantly argueing with my sister who was only trying to help me, but I felt she was belittling me and condeming me. A once very close relationship with her had become stra...

Keeping my weight maintained has always been a roller coaster ride for me. I have tried all kinds of diets. Because of the weight gain I had a lack of energy, so I really didn'y exercise the way I should've.

I had always had a weight problem. I grew up with a sister who was bone thin and could eat everything. I was forced to eat chicken breasts and broccoli. I would hide food and eat it when no one was around. I can remember going to the store and buying an entire box of Twix candy bars and consuming them all in a day. I never purged my food, I just had an incredible appetite. Food was my buddy. After...

I have been heavy all my life. When I was a child I was teased by my peers and family. I have ya yo dieted all my life. I tried nutri system, weight watcher, atkins, phen phen, Zenical, and many other forms of diets. Nothing has ever kept the weigh off. I was depressed and to a point of considering using laxatives to get my weight under control. I was so embarrassed of how fat I was, I avoid...

I had spent 31 of my 39 year very over weight and the last 15 years morbidly obese. I never had any serious medical problems until May of 2000 when I constantly had high blood pressure and elevated sugar and cholestral levels. I had tried so many different weightloss plans and drugs and felt like dying instead of living the my remaining life obese.

I have not always been overweight, but I have always loved food. I began to gain weight in '94, when I was 24 and working my first desk job. I worked near the kitchen, where there were always free snacks and cold drinks, and I could sneak as much as I wanted. Sneak .. that's the most important thing. I worked in an office alone, and no one could see me eating. Of course, everyone could see wh...

I was a fit and athletic teenager. I got married at 18 and had my first child when I was 21. From that day forward I stopped taking care of myself and became caregiver for the world. My weight went from 127 pounds at age 21 to 310 at age 47. Inbetween I started over 30 diets and weight loss programs. Most were marginally successful, however; within 3 months of any diet I gained back all of th...

Hi my name is Sharon and my battle with the bulge began approx 10 to 12 years ago when I decided to change my lifesyle, slow down on the partying, stopped drinking and basically an whole new outlook on life. Once the social events got less and less as the years went by the weight came more and more. I grew up a healthy average weight kid, tall for my age, bigger than most kids but I don't ever re...

Much like anyone else, I'm sure, my life was a constant battle between small weight loss successes, followed by large weight gains. After 30 years of this struggle, my health problems grew worse and worse, until I finally reached a full "catch 22." I was in so much pain I was miserable, and the more miserable I was the fatter I got -- and of course, the fatter I got, the worse I felt! When I fi...

I have always been overweight. My whole life i would fantasize about being skinny and wearing cute clothes and being able to walk into a room without stares from other people, and eating without guilt! I have hated myself for a long time because i have always beleived that if i just had any self control i would not be like this.I had alot of people in my life that made me feel that way to.

I had been fighting my ever increasing weight since age 14. I yo-yo dieted constanty. Each time I gained more weight. I was defiant about my weight since I could not seem to get control. If people didn't like my appearance, too bad. I have past issues with physical and emotional abuse which contributed to the problem. I also discovered I had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome about two years prior to sur...

I tried every diet out there and nothing worked. I cut out all fast foods and went down to one pop a day and I still couldn't lose weight. I have always been BIG boned as they say and heavier than I should. It was always a constant fight to stay thin. The most I lost at one time was 80 lbs and then gained it back. Being at 243 was the scariest time of my life and one I never want to see again...
