My battle with weight loss was very stressful and energy draining. I was depressed and ill all the time. I sometimes even cried of despair.

I was an emotional eater and did not always have healthy habits to be sure, but I also was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome at a young age, and therefore made it very difficult to ever lose weight. Before my surgery I was on weight watchers, a doctor's prescribed program, and even took weight-loss medication, all to no avail. I believe I only lost about 5 pounds in the six months of fa...

I wouldn't say that I necessarily had a battle with weight control. It was just that I didn't care. My whole family has a problem with being over weight, just considered it normal to be the way that I was.

Well, it's been a journey. . .
I started gaining weight as an adolescent. I was hospitalized for depression at age 13 related to Weight. I watched as my mother losted and gained nearly 150 lbs over my teens through medical fasting. During this time I tried medically guided weight loss programs, weight watchers and Slim-fast all with minimal success and ultimate failure. I left home for College...

I didn't really have a battle. I had tried many times to lose weight and I had decided that since I was relatively young and had no major problems associated with morbid obesity that I had better do something before I have problems that could affect the rest of my life! That is when I decided to have the surgery.

I had spent my entire life over weight, In my 20's I went through weightloss periods where I lost and gained more than a couple hundred pounds.
Finally I just gave up and ate my way up to 381 lbs.

I figured that it was something that I could take care of "eventually" and that for now I was just going to enjoy eating what I wanted and lounging around on the couch watching TV after work if I wanted to. Of course, it got to the point where when I finally wanted to do something, it was nearly physically impossible because my health had deteriorated so badly.

I have been heavy all my life. I can remember going with my mom for my first communion dress and having to get the biggest one and it was tight. Weight has always been a battle. I can remember my first diet was in the 7th grade. I could wear a size 18 for my 8th grade graduation. All the feelings with being heavy and the emotional pain that we all hide are there. Not fitting into theater seats, get...

I would get frustrated with my weight. Turn to Weight Watchers, seriously diet and believe I was making life changes. Lose about 20 pounds and start working out at the YMCA. The next 20 pounds would come off slowly. As soon as I started exercising - that's when my weight loss would slow and I would get frustrated. I messed with points - trying to come up with a better solution - eat more prot...

Before having WLS I was a binge eater. I would eat my self till I got sick. I would eat when I was bored, sad, angry or just plain eat because I just love food. Food was my life, I thought about food from the time I went to bed till the time I woke up. When I woke up I thought about what I was going to have for dinner.

I was always about 10-15 pounds overweight all my life. I struggled with my weight while in the military, that was so stressful. While in the military I got pregnant and I found that I was using that as an excuse to eat everything that I wanted. When I had my son I was 204 lbs. I was able to lose about 10 lbs but then the weight began to creep right back up. I saw my doctor who just said to stop e...

I am a great cook and any time I wanted something, It wasn't very far away. I loved to eat when I was upset or stressed out. Really loved to eat during the winter months. You know when it's cold.. It's great to cuddle up with book and a big bowl of chili.
Emotionally... Before I never could win the battle.

When I say walls meaning the I would love to do certain things but couldn't so i would either make up excuses no to go and be a part of or I would complain about everyone and everything around me.. just so I wouldn't be the only one not haveing a good time. All in all I was hurt and alone and I didn't like what...

I tried dieting all my life, everything but always lost and gained more until the point I couldn't stand it anymore, so I looked at wls, but didn't act on it. I kept it in the back of my mind until I was hospitalized in October and we had a sudden insurance change, then I thought it was time to try for the surgery.

I am an emotional eater. Happy, Sad, gray day, sunny day, bored or busy, there is always time for food. During the past years I was very successful in losing weight, mostly by one form or another of starvation. Once I turned 40 I could not lose to "SAVE MY LIFE"

When I had my first child in 1987 I was about a size 16. After having children I got bigger and bigger. I hated to go cloth shopping and I was very unhappy when I needed to go shopping and when it was time to get dress to go somewhere special. I though people were alwasy looking at me because I ...
