I was an absolute mess before I had bariatric surgery. I couldn't do anything physical without pain of some sort, I had gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia with the pregnancy of my son. I had high enough blood pressure at age 27 that I was on blood pressure medicine. I couldn't lay down without feeling out of breath and started having bouts of Sleep Apnea. I was depressed and a shut in. I ...

I was unable to control my eating over a long period of time. I could lose weight fairly easily by eating 600 calories a day, but I could not sustain that reduced intake. Eventually, it always caused my to "rebel" and start eating everything in sight. I always gained back far more than I had lost in the first place. Emotionally, the lack of consistent control is devastating.

I felt like my weight was always out of control. It was a losing battle and something that caused many deep depressions throughout my life. I just could not ever seem to get a grip on it, It consumed me and affected every single part of my life.

I never really had a weight loss "problem" growing up. I was in the military and healthy. It wasn't until I had babies that the weight started building. Then I became involved with some really bad relationships and the depression started assisting with the weight. Now the weight plays a very large part in my emotional life. I don't have a life anymore. I can't keep up with my children, heck I ca...

Ever since my teen years ... I've struggled with being overweight, and it soon lead to depression and very low self-esteem. I tried alot of different diets and programs, just looking for something to make me happy again. Nothing helped. Then I began learning about people who have had the bariatric surgery. I was excited at first. The more I read about it, the more scared, and nervous I became...

I have alwasy been an emotional eater, even though I didn't realize it until my senior year. I battle mostly when tragedy has struck, although I often over eat of bordem. I think that is the hardest part about the liquid phase. No matter what, you can't eat. My fiance and I are on the verge of a break up becasue without food, I have no way of curving my emotions. It is a true daily battle!

I did weight watchers and had 100 lb. success until I tried to do it alone and then I gained back all of it plus. Then I joined overeaters annonymous and had about the same thing happen. Then I tried nutri-system and same results. I tried everything that I read about or saw. Spent a lot of money and had a real yo-yo syndrome. Anne

I've battled my weight since age 12. I was put on my first diet that year and lost all but 2lbs of the weight that the Doctor felt should go. That was my first taste of failure. Not my last. My weight yo-yo'd. I was on diet pills, thyroid meds from age 12. Blood pressure meds started at age 15. When I was 17 I learned how bad (addictive) diet pills are and weaned myself off of them, even tho...

Weight has been a battle all of my life. I have been on many diets and actually have been successful on many of them. Only to find out that I regain the weight back and more. As I grew older, I began to give up on the idea that I could actually gain control of my life and became complacent with that notion. Bypass has given me a new life. It has given me the tool that I need to gain control ...

My weight problems began litterally when I was only 1 month old! I truly beleive that because at 1 month old my father had me drinking froma pepsi bottle, no kidding! By 8 months old I knew what a dairy queen sign was when we passed it! And by Kindergarten I was on my first diet!! I remember sitting at the table for lunch at the babysitters and drinking a weight loss shake while the other kids had...

I have been overweight my whole life. I guess it must be part hereditary. My whole family is obese. I was 9 pounds 5 oz at birth, and I never stopped gaining weight. I remember when I was 10 my doctor scolded me for being 175 and gaining 25 pounds in one year. When I was 16 I weighed 295. The next time I got on a scale, I was 18 going on 19, and 404 pounds. When I got married I was 440. Then recen...

I battled obesity and being addicted to food for over 10 years. I was on an emotional as well as a physical roller coaster. I ate when I felt good, sad, mad, just any emotion provoked an eating response.

I have battled the weight loss issue for many years. Obesity runs in my family, so I know that I had to do something that would help me long term or I would not be around long. Being heavy has been an emotional roller coaster for me, and I knew things had to change. I have an 11 year old daughter that I know needs me and I was affraid I wouldn't be here to see her frow up.
