I was raised in a bit of a food dysfunctional family. I had a mother who didn't like to cook, a father who had a lot of food intolerances and lived off a lot of processed foods. No one ate together at the table. Fruits and vegetables were barely ever found in our house. I didn't even try half of the vegetables in the world until I was in my 20s. Corn and potatoes were the only veggies that we...

I was a sneak emotional eater. I would eat an entire box of cupcakes in one sitting. I would often eat two meals at a fast food resturant. Many times I would eat when upset or bored. I have arthritis and exercise was hard.

My weight has been a problem since junior high school. I have tried most every diet known. I tried Weight Watchers 4 times. Nothing seemed to work. 9 years ago I fell and broke my leg and ankle and had trouble with the bone in the ankle not healing. After 6 surgeries, the ankle joint was replaced with an artificial joint. My walking had become so difficult that it posed problems with my othe...

I have been on evey diet imaginable, including the injection of urine from a pregnant women. The more upset I got about not loosing weight the more I gained and gained. Bariatric surgery was and is the single best thing I have ever done for MYSELF!!!!!
I just wish I could of been younger when I had it done so maybe I wouldn't have such loose wrinkly skin.

I hated myself. I didn't care what I looked like. I figured no one is looking or cares anyway so why bother wasting what little energy I had to begin with. I began to fear diets. Due to the fact that each and every time I would "Join WW" I would lose a lot.. Then gain more back then when I started. This happens all the time. It got to the point that I was terrified to diet. I had 1 date in high sc...

I have tried every diet known to man. I have taken Phen phen which really worked but then it went off the market and I went back up in weight. Weight watchers was good but I then gained back what I lost and then some. I tried liquid diets such as Medifast. Same results. I am an emotional eater and with each diet I ended up gaining back what I lost plus some extra. It wasn't until seeing others who...

I was a competitive swimming since I was six years old. As I moved up within the sport, I had to eat more and more to sustain my energy and build muscle. I was working out in the pool twice a day and dry land free weights once a day. During vacations, the pool schedule was moved up to three times a day (at my brother's school - and I was the only girl there. Yes, it was heaven!)
There never was...

As a child, I was very small until about the 3rd grade. All of a sudden, I grew a lot, and I became "pudgy." I thinned out in puberty, but it didn't last long. After high school, the real battle with weight started. I gained 50 pounds my freshman year in college. I gained a little more each year, and after each of my children. Emotionally, I was depressed and felt helpless. No matter how much I tr...

I have been over weight about my whole life, since about the age of 12. I started to do different diets, my mom spent alot of money on different things for me. I can tell you somethings that I tried: 7 day Doctor Diet, Grapefruit Diet, Diet Pills, Herbal Life, Richard Simmons, and I could keep going on and on.

As with many large people, I suppose, my battle with my weight began early. I first remember being "bigger" than other kids my age when I was in fifth grade. Since then, I could never seem to control my weight and just kept getting bigger and bigger. By the time I was 18 I weighed over 300 pounds, despite a fairly active lifestyle and several diets.
After awhile, I chose to give up on the dieti...

I would lose weight and be happy for a while.
Then I would gain the weight back that I lost and then some.
I felt I would be on diets all my life. Depressing!

I am an emotional eater. I eat when I am happy, I eat when I am sad. Food was used as a reward when I was growing up, and there were times when we had no food, so food was important to me. We did not always have the food that I wanted to eat, and I remember saying that when I grow up, I will buy the food I want. That is what I did and I had the fat to prove it. Everyone around me was so much ...

I have tried numerous diets and over time have always allowed things in my life to stop me from being on the diet program. I have lost & always gained it back plus more. I have tried over the counter medication & doctor prescribed diet medications.

Had been battling obesity since age 12. Managed to lose weight many times, but gained it all back. Affected my everyday life because I never wanted to meet new people and if I saw people I hadn't seen since one of my thinner days, I'd just pretend I just didn't see them.
