Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

hi, i was strugging with weigh since the age of 15 now at 51 i had had enough my health was a issure i would bing eat when ever i was a lone food had become over whelming to me i had to find a way to stop

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

there were a few things the worse one was being jealous of my husband around thin women

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

a lot of people where i work had it done and i seen wonderfull results

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

it was not hard for me i thank god i have good insurance but i also need a knee replacement and have other medical promblems

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

exicting write down any questions because you will be so happy that there is something to help you thru this addiction

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

not feeling good about myself tied all the time always thinking about food

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

the lapband seemed to be a better option for my needs

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

not to many anything can happen with any surgey that is needed just look at it as a much needed tool to live the rest of youre life

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

everyone was great and still are because they have seen what being over weight had done to me

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

i told the truth i might be out 1week maybe 2 because i work in the mental health field

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

i loved the hospital stay everyone was great stayed 1 day p.j slippers for walking i was up the same day walking the halls

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

none

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

my support person really helped

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

still the mind has not conected that you no longer be eating for the whole family find who you are with out food being in the piture

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

45 mins no problems

in this short time i noticed more energy

daily and calcum

i have a support person and several people where i work

not bad yes it is
