Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was always small until my second pregnancy. Made healthy food choices for the most part but struggled with losing the 100lbs I gained in those 9 months. I battled with anxiety, depression and lack of time to focus on myself.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

After 16 years and repeat injuries my PCP said the stress fractures were caused from my weight. Well how was I supposed to lose weight if I can't work out? It was such a frustrating cycle. Work your butt off for 6 months, starving and sweating lose 40lbs only to be laid up for 6 more months to gain 20 more back than you lost...

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am able to get out and work out without shin pain. My joints don't hurt near as much as they used to. I am feeling more and more comfortable in this journey as each day passes.
