Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Before my vsg surgery my life felt hopeless. The way I was treated on a day to day basis made me so insecure!! People can be do cruel. In order to survive the anxiety from having to face the world everyday I had to take Valium. No Matter how hard I tried the scale kept going up. When I met my Dr. He reassured me that sometimes it's beyond our control. Sometimes we just need a tool to help us battle the weight!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Self confidence was non existent and I tolerated emotional abuse daily in my marriage. But I felt because I was so fat I would never have the opportunity to find happiness. I honestly felt doomed.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

The scale!!! Shopping!!! Living my life and enjoying my new and wonderful husband!!!!!!
