Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was raised to ignore my feelings are they are irrational and troublesome. When I could no longer ignore them...I began suppressing them with food. I wasn't able to admit that I had an eating problem as I contained my overeating to once a day. Finally, weighing 398lbs, I realized that my eating and weight were out of control and needed to be handled.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The self loathing and uncontrollable urges.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have not had the surgery yet.
