Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Tried every weight loss diet/gimic known to mankind. I would spend 3 months on a starvation diet to loose 20 pounds and gain it all back in a week! DO NOT BE SCARED!! I was petrified to move forward with my gasteric sleeve surgery in Mexico thinking it would not be safe or the doctor's would not measure up to the ones in the USA. My concerns were all put to rest after viewing the videos provided by my surgeon (Dr, Guillermo Alvarez). The accomodations with regard to the hospital, airport, transportation, and hotel were all just exactly as conveyed in the Video's. The (2) surgeons that performed my gasteric sleeve checked on me 2 times per day (both of them!...for 3 days!!)...That would never happen in the states!!! Bottom line is my health care for this procedure was the best I have ever had in my life...and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to have a weight loss procedure. I am 4-weeks post-op and have lost 40 pounds...feel great...no complications...lots of energy. The surgeons and staff were the most professional I have ever been associated with. God bless Dr. Alvarez and his team at endobariatric.com.
What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
The concern of what I was planning to endulge myself with next caused me considerable guilt. I love to bar-b-que and bake and though the family enjoyed what I prepared It usually was not a very healthy meal. I had really given up hope of being less than a XXXL until my daughter had the gasteric sleeve surgery performed and in a few short months the weight was falling off her at a steady gradual rate. Seven months after her procedure she had lost 80 lbs and was looking and feeling great. This is when I decided to try and qualify for the procedure and was accepted by all professionals/doctors involved in the system with exception of my medical insurer (Imagine that?) After intensive research I found and chose Dr. Alvarez in Mexico to be the most qualified, experianced, reasonably priced, and all inclusive as well. (with exception of airfare)
If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
The things I can do know that I could not before are really countless, but just a few of the important ones are: Easily bend over and tie my shoes, get up off the floor without help or having to have another person help, don't have to feel uncomfortable about others looking at me thinking this dudes going to pop a button and put my eye out, I can consume a small portion at any meal and feel comfortably satisfied, I can walk, run and work much easier and with more energy than I can ever remember.
DON'T BE WORRIED ABOUT THIS PROCEDURE IN MEXICO...ITS SAFE AND EXCELLENT MEDICAL CARE!!!
