Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have had many failed attempts to loose weight throughout the years. Although I am a very people person and people generally get along and absolutely love me lol, My self esteem has never been great. I can remember being very skinny as a kid (preteen) and as I have gotten older and gone through some huge life changes like the loss of loved ones I became an emotional eater.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to keep up with my kids and feeling guilty for how I look and feel. Being ok with how I ate.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

April 9 2013 I am currently 6 days out. yipee! So far I have to say that it is has to be the lack of wanting to eat absolutely everything in the house. I have to young kiddos and sometimes I felt that they probably could see me as Cookie monster or someone in that arena as I could never stop eating even after I just ate. October 7 2013 This week I just reached 6 months out i have lost close to 70 pds. Yayy! My newest thing is that I cross my legs alot, I never was able to do that before and now that is how I am most comfortable.
