Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I never stuggled with my weight much until I reached my 30's. Then I began to pack on the pounds. For the last 10 years it has been a fight. I have tried every diet and every weight loss program out there. I would lose weight then put it right back on and some. I found myself often time depressed and defeated. My mother had died from diabetes five years ago. She had lost her eyesight, and was on dialyasis three times a week. I did not want to end up that way. So I started research for weight loss.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Shoping for clothes is never fun as an overweight person. I hated not being able to do the things like I use to do.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I just started my liquid diet to prep for my surgery in two weeks. I will see how it goes from there.
