Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I like many have struggled with my weight my whole life, I have tried every new diet that comes out with no success. I have stood in the back of the room to not be noticed, I have missed important events because I didnt have any thing to wear. And I have had people say mean things to me. I think if I had to name one thing that hurts the most is when someone ask me when the baby is due. I am the baby of six children and am the only one that struggles with weight.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing for me being over weight , is not being able to ride horses, go run with my daughter and having to tell her I cant do something when she needs me to help.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I just had the Gastric Sleeve done, and I am enjoying every part of it. I am now able to walk 2 miles a day, play volleyball with my baby, and feel so much better about my self. Im not afraid to walk into a place anymore by my self. I still have a ways to go and can't wait to reach my goal !!!
