Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was always skinny before kids.. I was always an active teenager but after having kids i was up to 210 pounds around 2000..so i done several weightloss programs in which i would lose and gain back.., i found out i had a thyroid problem and was prescribed synthyroid, still gaining weight i started researchinging wls in 2003. 2005 I was up to 303 pounds and thats when i had gastric bypass..I lost alot got dwn to 193 and was happy being in a size 7/8... I started gaining weight after about 4 yrs post op and started getting depressed and feeling like a failure.. I realized i was again losing the batte, I wasnt eating right or exercising.. just figured i would never be as big as i once were... well 2010, i was up to 240, 250, 260 and hated it..i started looking into revision surgery.... i had revision surgery on jan 7 2013...of lapband over bypass

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

feeling like a failure bc of me already having a previous surgery..

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

am only 7 days post op but am excited about the new changes to come and me getting back to a new healthier me for a lifetime
