Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I eat when i am sad or bored

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I have no energy and feel like an idiot asking my son to tie my shoe or have him help me put socks on. i cant fit in resturant booths or in amusement park rides.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have not had my surgery yet. i am waiting on a date

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I first was told I should get it done 3 years ago but shot it down right away thinking I can do it on my own

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

I am a Proud Canadian and we dont need insurance approval thank God!

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

I had butterflies and I was nervous but came prepared with questions and was prepared to give him an idea of how badly i wanted this surgery by telling him all the researching I have been doing.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I just felt like i was getting bigger and bigger and felt so unhealthy.

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

I had some help from my surgeon

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

Yes this thought is in the back of my mind but i am doing this surgery for my health and to be healthier for my children. If i dont I could potentially die from me just being unhealthy and over weight
