Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Since a puberty, I have been the biggest______. The biggest child, the biggest in my class, the biggest on the bus, the biggest in the pool, the biggest girl at the dance, etc. Little did I know it would be after the births of my children that I would reach my "biggest". I have always been an outgoing person, easily hiding my lack of self confidence. My first diet was age 12. I am 42 now and have tried every single diet. My story is a typical sad story though. I have had a great support system from day one. My biggest cheerleader has always been my mom. My husband is my biggest fan.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

not being able to fit in a regular chair.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am only one week post op, but Im able to follow the diet and am super motivated and ready to continue this journey!
