Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

It was hard to deal with the wait of haveing my operation it would think about it too much sometimes. Knowing that this is what i wanted to do but with the long wait I would get sooooo scard.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Always being the fat girl with the nice looking friends.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Buying cloths off the rack.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I herd about it from a friend and i hit the floor running knowing that it was what i needed to get my life back.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

My stay was awsome my nurses were the best and my doctor saw to my every need. I was there for 3 days and was happy to go home.The most important thing to bring is your own pillows and PJ'S

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

Not at first now that i am four months out i have gotten two ulcers that are makeing life a bit tricky these days

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I was shocked when they called and it was three weeks away I had to rush around to get things ready and never really got to think about what was going on. On the day of however I was doing some deep breathing to keep myself from dieing.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

People should be perpaired to be really moody it was the hardest thing to get through because i did'nt want to be a meany but it i could'nt help it. The pain was nothing it really did'nt hurt much at all. sleeping was the worst cuz you can't sleep on your belly and i would always roll over so keep lots of pillows around you.

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

The olny thing i know i can'nt do is sugar and breads but other then that i can do a bit of everything.

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

i walked walked walked try to get back on my feet sooner.

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

you name it i tryed it

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

The hair loss is the one thing i am haveing a hard time with it really sucks.

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

THE WAIT.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I have a group that I go too once a month it really is great and my sister is my biggest help.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I had a lap so their are really small.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

none as of yet.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Yes i do it kinda sucks.
