Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Being overweight is like being trapped in a body you can't believe is your own....its depressing and lonely because its not something you want to share....

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I worried about everything as an obese person. You let it stop you from going places because you wonder if you will fit in the chair. I carry my weight in my butt and hips so this was a constant concern for me....

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I just had my surgery 12/4. So I am still on the mend. I go back to work next week and am looking forward to rediscovering everything! I am 33 lbs less than I was in September, so I feel like that is a great start.....

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
