Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was always hating myself for eating my hamburger and fries. Being overweight was all I thought about. I wouldn't go places with my husband or kids because I felt fat and ugly. I was ashamed of myself and how I looked so I would fight with my husband so I wouldn't have to go places. Those insecurities took over my life and the person in the mirror was not me.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not during everyday things because of my insecurities and not living life.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I love to go clothing shopping and being able to get regular clothes. Go places with my family and not think people are staring at me because I am overweight. I love to take picture with my kids and make long lasting memories.
