Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have always had weight problems, and it has always been a huge emotional problem for me. I was bigger ever since I was a little girl, and I cannot wait for it to change. I am ready to change my lifestyle; I am ready to get this weight off and do all of the things I have missed out on. I am ready to live my life.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is not being able to participate in everything: worrying about fitting in a chair, not being able to ride rides at amusement parks, feeling ugly and self conscious.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have not had surgery yet, but am in the process of getting all of the required doctor's visits and testing done so that I can get insurance authorization and get it scheduled.
