Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I can go on telling my story but i will try to keep it short yea right. There are no short sad stories when it comes to our battles with obesity.I was a overweight insecure youth who managed to lose weight in my teens and keep it off and actually managed to get into good shape. Then like so many others certain things that like exercize and good eating habits stopped.I began to put abnormally huge amounts of weight that put me at the 375lb mark @ 39yrs old i own my own with lots of exercize and healty eating dropped 175lbs in a yr so for my 40th bday i weighed a healthy 200lbs.Here comes the sad or funny part to all food addicts i stopped goin to gym and eating right in a span of 5yrs i gained all weight back + @45 i was up too 394lbs and on my way too a early death.I after much reservation said it's surgery or die young. My surg date was dec16-11 i am now @250 and working hard to get back too about 200 but will be happy with 220 as long as it's with healty eating and exercize wieght lost so far is about 140lbs.I would not let anyone take p[ics of me @preop weight but will post some pics of me now as i continue this journey too a lasting life of hopefully living a life as a person who's not a morbid obese person what ugly words to be associated withthe surgery i now plan on living in a the non obese world.ty hope i didnt too much rambling lol.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Thyere are many i like to always mention the simple ones that must normal people do without thinking about goin to a movie or sitting in a barbers chair for a haircut because i was too damm big.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am now aboe to enjoy a movie @theater with wife hows this one go to a.c and sit @table without being too embarrased because the seats where not big enough plus i took up too much space which made gamblers unhappy with me,not to mention there comments behind my back.
