Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I did some eating that was stress related, especially when at work. More eating at work than home and out and about on a weekend. Went through many rounds of weight watchers and I believe in their program, modifying what you eat and how much. Have always had a weight problem,as long as I can remember. The thought of surgery originally was not even on my radar, but when I heard about the Sleeve and met several people who had the surgery and saw their success, I made the decision to do it.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Feeling uncomfortable. I wasn't uncomfortable with my appearance, per say, but flt uncomfortable. Didn't like not being able to dance anymore, run with my dog, bend over and tie my shoes and getting breathless in Zumba class.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

too soon after surgery to tell you what I enjoy, but I know I will enjoy getting back to dancing and exercising and enjoying the summer!
