Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I had Roux en Y gastric bypass in 2002 and failed miserably. I had no support from my boyfriend (now, husband), and a doctor in another state that didnt really give any pre or postoperative careplans. I am now a wife and mother of two beautiful girls, and I AM READY!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Being the mommy of two active babies, I was so scared to go to Disney World with my family because I was afraid I wouldn't fit into the ride! I hate living life in fear! I am ready to live life out loud!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am so afraid of FAILURE this time around! But this time, I have an EXCELLENT doctor and care staff and a PLAN of ACTION!

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
