Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I had always been an overweight individual. Over the years the weight just seemed to accumulate and got to the point where I forgot what it felt like to be "full". I always seemed to be either hungry, or completely stuffed and ready to explode...there was no middle ground. I tried several different methods and diets to shed the weight and nothing worked. I would lose weight initially but then regain it back plus more.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Being tired all the time, no being able to put my own socks on, having to have my wife tie my shoes, and not being able to be very active with my kids.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am able to be much MUCH more active then before. I am able to dress my own feet, I can keep up with the kids now, get into tighter spaces, etc. I am very happy to have had my gastric bypass, and to date have had no complications.
