Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Since I remember my childhool back in Cuba, I always have been in diets and watching what I eat. When I turned 15 years old, I was weighin 145 pounds, then, from that time on I have been in strict diets, including phen-phen and multiple others. When I got married (19 years old) i managed to lose about 20 pounds and I look great, then I immediately got pregnant and gained over 55 pounds putting my self close to 200 pounds. It took me longs years to lose some pounds but never got to my ideal weigh of 125 pounds. In the past three years i have gained over 45 pounds, and I was weighin 196 when I decided that I want to have surgery and started to learn and search for bariatric surgery. Finally, I have made the greatest decision of my life, by traveling to Nashville, Tenn and put my self under the care of Dr. Westmoreland. Today February 9, 2012, I will have surgery and I am just praying that everything is going to go well. I will post my NOW this is ME pictures and the NEW me later.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Can't reach my toes or shoes, breathing problems, sleepnea, high cholesterol and very depressed to see me gaining pounds after pounds and going from size 6 to 14. very depressing
