Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have always struggle with my weight. I would try different diets and lose a few pounds but months later and gain the weight back and sometimes more. When I move to London in 1999, I did lose 40lbs. Butt when I moved back home to New York , I gained it back. I was going through a lot of changes and battling multiple addictions. Today I have a young child and I am concern for my health and for my future. Almost 3 years ago I was diagnosis with Type 2 diabetes.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is the body pain. My knees and ankle hurt when I stand for a period of time. I have a huge belly and when I stand for a period of time my back hurts. I am not even 40 years old yet and my hip bone hurt for sitting too long. I feel like my body is much older than my natural age.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have not had the surgery yet my wls sate is4/30/12.
