Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Its been quite a battle for 32 years, especially the last 10. I have dropped and gains back 150 lbs on two seperate occasions. I am an emtional eater, and have been thru many battles in my life.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The limitations on the life I want and know I can live. I love to play sports at a high level. I played Semi-pro baseball in my younger days, and loved playing hockey. As the weight trickled back on these last few years, I became less mobile, and unable to participate in sports at the level I was accustomed to.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Jury is still out, as I am only a few days post op from VSG
