Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have tried many diets, exercise programs and food programs that really did work but, they were extremely costly and I always gained back so much more weight that what I initially lost. I have researched wls for about 10 years and kept trying alternatives including diet pills etc. I am so happy that I decided to give my body a fighting chance and do the VSG no more delay. I am looking forward to better health!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Getting dressed became more and more of a challenge for me. After finally getting prep and prim, I am then exhausted about where I am heading too. Why?? Because, I could count on my back hurting before I did much walking at all and sweating toppled off with heavy breathing. Going outside was a task that I did not enjoy anymore.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have just had my sleeve completed on March 2, 2012 by Dr. Garcia in Tijuana, Mexico via Alma @ Ready For Change and it has been a wonderful experience thus far.
