Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I tried to do everything I could to ensure that I was healthy, however nothing would work. I am and always will be an emotional eater, and it has gotten me into troublee more often than not. I have tried: herbal magic; weight watchers; slim fast; gym and working out. It would work for a little bit and then I would put it all back on and then more. I was 27 and 326 pounds and just had a baby and was on insulin and high blood pressure medication. I was a fairly physically fit fat person.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Buying clothing and the looks you would get.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Getting out and running Not feeling lathargic all the time Not taking medication at all times Being able to do yoga and other fitness classes without fear Sweating all the time Being able to shop in regular size clothes
