Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have been overweight for as long as I can remember and emotionally it has been dramatic on how everything in our society relies on a persons appearance. Being overweight has helped me learn that there is DEFINITELY more to a person then their outer appearance, this has allowed me to make a varied friend list so to speak. i have thought about bypass in the past and for some reason I never went through with it, and that is probably a good thing since I haven't always been in the best frame of emotional mindsets.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

For me the worst things about being overweight are the physical limitations... its hard on my knees and my feet hurt alot! I have lower back pain that is exacerbated by my weight. Not too mention it is hard to find cute clothes that don't cost a small fortune to purchase.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am in the process of having the RNY....
