Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I had Stage III Lymes Disease before my surgery. I have always been heavy and had some medical issues but it got worse after that naughty tick bit me back in 2007. It was a hard battle to function every day and taking up to 13 medications a day was getting to be nuts. I was sad, tired, depressed and just sick and tired of being sick an tired.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing for me was going to amusement parks with my kids and not being able to fit in some of the rides and being asked to get off in front of crowds of people. Totally embarrasing.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am able to fit in all rides. I am in smaller clothes. I am able to last longer with activities then before.
