Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

My battles were with my health. I had diabetes and was slowly losing control over it. My blood pressure was rising. I was 46 years old I needed to make a change if I'm expected to work until 65 or 70. I didn't like the way I looked in the mirror. And don't even take a full body picture of me. I was not happy. I hid my feelings inside.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Worst thing about being over weight was being overweight. My health, my mental status was in jeopardy. Trying on differrent clothes before you finally find the right outfit to wear to work.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I enjoy the energy that I have. I feel confident about myself. I am improving my work ethics due to my new found life change.
