my name is melissa i try so many ways to lose weight like herbal life..xenical..ear staples..adipex you name it i tried it...i would lose 10lbs and gain 15lbs.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

my diabetes got worst and other health issues

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

the best thing about the sx is i no longer have to take insulin i was injecting 240-260 units a day and taking blood pressure meds it was so bad the insulin made my ankles looked like softballs and no doctor knew what it was..i was 215 before insulin and gain 30 pounds in 1 year...my surgery was 12/28/11 and 12/29/11 never took a blood pressure pill again...and havent taken lantus in 2 nights and im happy to say i can see my ankles again =)..and 2 weeks into my surgery im insulin FREE..i take oral pills for my diabetes..dr.schmidts and the sleeve surgery was a blessing.. i don't know what would of been of me...Dr.Schmidts...his nurses..and staff are awesome thank you so much for helping with my health i feel better and still cant believe im off insulin i just want to cry of joy..oh and lost 23 lbs in 4 weeks...So yes its worth to get the surgery for your health.... and thank you dr. schmidts your a blessing from the skys...03/28/2012 quick update i've lost 40 since the surgery and i havent use insulin since 12/2011 im on oral meds for diabetes and havent taken a blood pressure meds since this sx was the best thing that ever happened to me thx you dr..Schmidts and staff....
