Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
My behavior and emotional battle with food was out of control before I attended the bariatric Surgery Support Group. I would buy candy bars, icecream and load up on carbs like pizza and lasagna. I did'nt hide it, I did this among my family this was normal for us. We ate nonstop at meals until my stomach felt like it would burst, but that did'nt stop me once the pain went away I continued to eat. Nevermind that this was causing me physical pain thats how I dealt with the sadness in my life. I planned my life around food, I did not socialize outside of my home. I had a few friends and I did"nt want anyone to see me behave this way.
I knew I had to do something because not only was my behavior affecting my self-esteem but my daughter's wellbeing. It was time for a change.
What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
The worst thing about being overweight is fatigue, joint pain and the emotional ups and downs of not meeting my goals.
If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
I just had surgery 5 days ago. I'm new to the surgery, however, I am happy that I am not hungry all the time.
