Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was my own worst critic. My husband loved me for who I was and married me when I was heavier. It wasn't until after the birth of my second child two years ago that my OBGYN told me that I needed to do something about my weight. The first time ever and Dr. even mentioned anything about my weight! I always had high self esteem, but knew I was also sometimes hiding behind my weight....always wanting to do something about it. Dieted, lost weight, but then gained it right back. I knew it was time to do something about it for good -- for the sake of my two beautiful children and my awesome husband!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Shopping for clothes....I always wished I could fit into the "normal" clothes and not automatically headed to the the "plus size" section of the store.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Everything! Shopping! Did I say shopping? Also love working out and playing hard with my kiddos! I've lost 75 pounds in 10 months.....only 25 more to go! Yahoo!
