Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was kind of lucky honestly. My family, friends, and husband never talked about my weight (to my face), just said I was beautiful. I was my biggest critic and just finally got tired of feeling out of place and uncomfortable.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

We love traveling and I couldn't fit in the airplane seats anymore. We like movies and I couldn't fit in the movie seats anymore. My Dr. told me I wouldn't be able to get pregnant unless I loss a significant amount of weight....this was the last straw.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

uhhh, EVERYTHING! I had surgery almost 8 months ago and am down 89 lbs. We went to Vegas and I fit in the seat with EXTRA room. We go to movies and I am cozy in the seat. I love working out now, I can actually run. My life is so different and I would do it all over again in a heart beat.
