Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I've been overweight all my life but it never really bothered me when I was younger because I was always so active. It started bothering me when I was pregnant for my first child & got really bad after my 2nd. I now have fibro & there are days when I can't get out of bed & need help from my husband or children. I'm now at my heaviest weight & I'm so scared that if I were to fall or need help getting up, I'd be too heavy for them to help me.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Although I never understood, I remember being told by my father & other relatives that I had such a pretty face & how much more attractive I'd be if I could lose weight. I've been dieting on & off since my 20's & I've never been able to stick with something or getting discouraged that I had "cheated" that I'd just give up.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
