Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

My weight gain was a gradual thing because I am a cook have been all my life. So I learned to live with my gain as i grew! My happiness was munching snack food when I got home from work ,which was usually after 8pm and then off to bed! NOT good! my emotions weren't bad until my feet began to hurt.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The feet hurting day after day that I worked. Days off were Ok but those mornings I woke up and could barely walk I had to use a cane and I'm only 55!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Haven't had it yet, but I will look forward to walking with no pain and being able to get on a roller coaster again!
