Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I would alway wonder what others were saying or thinking about my size. I was depressed and didn't see myself as a big perso .

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able go shopping and find clothes that fit right.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have had the gastric sleeve. Being able to keep up with my family and not getting short of breath. Going shopping in the normal size shops. The thing I enjoy the most is seeing the number on the scales go down. I am looking forward to hangout at the lake this summer and being comfortable in shorts and swimming suit. Updated: 2-18-13 I am now 21months post-op. Got married in April 2012 to the man of my dreams. He's been there thick and now thin. I weigh 173.
