Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have had struggles with my weight since I started having children. I have tried many diets and exercise routines. I would consider myself to be an active, healthy, overweight person who just likes food too much. I have many overweight women in my family and when I was dieting and not seeing results I get discouraged and give up. It's so frustrating to see these skinny women eat twice as much as me and never gain a pound. So I would blame my genes and slowly give up every time.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Self Esteem is the worst for me. I feel like people like me and enjoy my company but sometimes it's like they don't really see me.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I just had my surgery three days ago so I will have to get back to this question.
