Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was a food addict-I lived to eat and I ate accoding to emotion- I certainly never knew the meaning of hunger.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I was a brittle diabetic on insulin 4x a day along with a ton of other meds and I was dying.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

EVERYTHING!! It is a new life! From the 1'st time that I crossed my legs-to coming accross the finish line at my 1'st 5k it has been and continues to be one heck of a ride!!!! I just shoveled snow without getting short of breath today!!!! Buying size 14 jeans right off the rack is a miracle!!! I am no longer on any meds except for vitamins!!!!!!!!!

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
