Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Over the years, it feels like the person I was looking at just couldn't be me. How did I get to this point? I have always had trouble with my weight. I was a thin teen but when I went to college it all went to hell pretty quickly!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is just how I feel about myself. My husband's college roommate once made the statement, "If you lost 60 pounds, Rob would have to learn karate!" I thought to myself, is that a compliment or what??? Needless to say, the 60 has now become 80!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am having surgery in March 2012, so hopefully I have a long list to add!

ARE YOU READY TO PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR JOURNEY? Your journey will help highlight the many ways weight loss surgery improves lives and makes a difference in our families, communities and world. EACH JOURNEY COUNTS as a voice towards greater awareness.
