Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was on a full-time roller coaster ride trying to control my out of control eating habits. I was constantly getting new gym memberships, signing up for kickboxing classes, signing up for weightloss boot camps that only lasted maybe 3 times each.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight was always running out of breath. If I walked in the park I would began panting before I really got started.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I love laying on the floor and raising my legs straight up in the air without bending my knees. I can shovel the snow for an hour before I realize an hour has passed. I enjoy jogging while my son rides his bike or his scooter. I love not having my lower belly in my way when I excercise. The list is endless!
