Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Well, I have been overweight all of my life. Although, very active. You know the typical country girl, lifting wood, hauling water, and always outdoors doing something. I never felt unhealthy. I knew I had a little more cushion than most of my peers but, it never used to bother me. My weight didnt really become an issue until I began dating and at that time, I began to notice things about my body that I didnt particularly find appealing to me. So I began to emotional eat-BAD MOVE-thus this was the beginning of my long journey to battle the BULGE.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I couldnt find sexy clothes, being unable to perform certain tasks, being tired all the time and feeling as though society didnt take me seriously or respect me as an important person.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am looking forward to my surgery and doing any and everything I want to do!
