Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Everytime I did a diet or tried a perscription, I either gained the weight back or I gained the weight back and more on top of that.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Always tired, could never find clothes that fit, but the main one would have to be that I WOULD NOT PUT 298 LBS on ANY horses back. I knew I had to get this weight off to enjoy the one thing that I love to do the most. I went from a size 24 to a 8 but I like to wear 10's as they are most comfortable because I do not like anything tight on my skin.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Horse back riding and training other individual horses. The fact that I can keep up very easy with my las two sons that are at home, they are 13 and soon to be 16. I am a tomboy type mom with a 40 acre horse farm with a cow and 18 chickens and 2 dogs as well as a kitten. Nothing slows me down. I love the energy that I have now. I play and watch all sports, as well as motorcycles, snowmobiles, I even operate all my own farm equipment as I am a single mom and this is something that I enjoy doing.
