Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was a super type A personality, control freak. I could master anything but my weight which drove me insane and I would bury the emotions with food. I Yoyo dieted my weight up to 320lbs.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to keep up with my husband when we went out hiking, or having to constantly check the weight restrictions on things and not being able to do certain activities because I was too heavy like para sailing, zip lining, bungee jumping.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am post op and am enjoying shopping for smaller clothes. I am back at the gym and doing well, I still have another 70lbs to lose before I am going to attempt my bucket list of para sailing, bungee jumping and ziplining. Edit to add, I have now ran a 5K race and fit into size 14 jeans size XL shirts. I still have another 25lbs to lose but loving life.
